Providence Theological Seminary Founding Churches:
Killeen Bible Church (KBC)
Killeen Bible Church, located at 4717 Westcliff Road, Killeen, Texas and adjacent to the U.S. Army Fort Hood military installation, is one of Providence Theological Seminary's founding churches. It was then pastored by Joe Kelley. Dr. Kelley is now a resident faculty member of the seminary in Colorado Springs, CO. Brian Thom is now the teaching Elder at KBC and a Guest Faculty member of the seminary teaching Bible Exposition and Pastoral Theology. The church is overseen by a plurality of Elders and Deacons. Dayspring Fellowship Church
Dayspring Fellowship Church, located at 5500 Avenue G, Austin, Texas, is the other church that helped found Providence Theological Seminary. It is a Reformed Baptist Church, named for Luke 1:78, where the coming of Jesus Christ into the world is described as a sunrise (a "dayspring") from on high, "to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death to guide our feet into the way of peace." Jackson Boyett (now ceased) was the founding pastor of Dayspring Fellowship. Greg Van Court is now the pastor and an adjunct faculty member of the seminary teaching the OT and NT biblical languages and Biblical Theology. The church is overseen by a plurality of elders and a group of deacons who minster works of service to the congregation. While a convenient summary of its beliefs may be found in the First London Baptist Confession of 1646, the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practices is the Bible, the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God.
